UIDAI lets users of Aadhaar cardsto change their address without needing documents. Aadhaar cardholders have the right to alter their address even if they could not prove evidence of their identity.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped an important feature which permits you to alter your Aadhaar card's address, without proof of address.
UIDAI permits users of Aadhaar cards to change their address and address without any documents. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address, if they are willing to accept the authentication from the address verification. A verifier of address could be a relative, friend or landlord who will permit the Aadhaar card holder to use their address to prove their identity.
UIDAI has stopped the feature. UIDAI provided a response to an Card owner by tweeting that the ability to update address on the Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Certificate was removed. UIDAI has requested that the Aadhaar Issuers to inform the user that they can change their address with another acceptable PoA document.
Dear Resident Attention: The addresses Validation Letter service has been suspended until further notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
